Professional History
Dr. Lauren Matera is a board-certified pediatrician with specialized training in adolescent medicine. She completed her Pediatric Residency at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2020 and an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital in 2023. Dr. Matera holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University.
She has a strong commitment to adolescent health, with particular expertise in LGBTQ+ youth health, gender diversity, and contraceptive care. She has contributed to medical education through presentations at national conferences and has developed educational programs to improve healthcare providers' knowledge of LGBTQ+ youth health disparities. Dr. Matera is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys baking, cake decorating, and distance running.
