
Dr. Lauren Matera is a board-certified specialist in Adolescent Medicine and Pediatrics. She has a strong commitment to adolescent health, with expertise in LGBTQ+ youth health, gender diversity, gynecologic care, menstrual issues, IUD and contraceptive implant procedures and care, eating disorders, and mental health.
Dr. Matera is a recognized educator and advocate, having presented at national conferences and developed training programs to enhance healthcare providers’ understanding of LGBTQ+ health and reduce disparities in care. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University. Dr. Matera completed her Pediatric Residency at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children’s Hospital, followed by a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Matera enjoys baking, cake decorating, and distance running.
