Kristina Melchert

Dr. Melchert has served as Co-Assistant Director of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital since 2013, prior to becoming division chief in 2025. She brings over a decade of experience in pediatric hospital medicine, with faculty positions at esteemed institutions such as New York Medical College, Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, and Stony Brook University. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to patient care, medical education, and quality improvement, leading initiatives on pediatric safety, timely discharge communication, and the appropriate use of IV fluids.
Additionally, he plays an active role in hospital leadership, including serving on the Pediatric Rapid Response & Code White Review Committee, where she helps ensure the highest level of care for children in emergencies.
