Elissa Kappel, MSN, FNP-BC, RNC-NIC, is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in maternal-child health, specializing in pediatric and neonatal care. She joined Herbert Kania Pediatric Group in 2018 and is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Samford University Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from California State University, Sacramento.
Elissa has experience as an FNP in primary pediatric care after years of work as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital. She is a Registered Certified Nurse in Neonatal Intensive Care from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) and focuses on evidence-based practices that improve patient outcomes including breastfeeding initiation and duration rates helping new parents build confidence in latch challenges & milk supply. Outside the office, she enjoys reading and traveling with her family.
