Professional History

Dr. Keselman received his undergraduate education at New York University and earned his medical degree from the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He completed residency training in Child Neurology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Neuromuscular Medicine with additional subspecialized training in gene therapy.

Dr. Keselman serves as Medical Director of the Pediatric Neuromuscular Medicine Program. He also sees patients as part of the Neurofibromatosis Specialty Care Center and the multidisciplinary Neuro-Oncology Clinic, and contributes to multiple additional specialty programs. His clinical practice includes outpatient pediatric neurology care, inpatient neurology at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, and neurology consultation services at Blythedale Children’s Hospital within the pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program.

Dr. Keselman’s clinical and academic focus centers on the evaluation and management of pediatric neuromuscular disorders, such as muscular dystrophies, myopathies, spinal muscular atrophy, myasthenia gravis, and neuropathic conditions including Charcot-Marie Tooth. He has advanced expertise in neuromuscular diagnostics, including nerve conduction studies and electromyography (NCS/EMG), as well as neuromuscular ultrasound. His scholarly and clinical interests include the application, monitoring, and long-term outcomes of gene therapies and other emerging molecular treatments for neuromuscular disease.

Dr. Keselman is actively involved in medical education and enjoys teaching trainees at multiple levels, with particular emphasis on education at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, where he serves on clinical service, and medical student education at New York Medical College. He also contributes to the academic literature through clinical and translational research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications.
