Alan M. Hirschman, M.D., F.A.A.P., gave up a successful career as an Electrical Engineer to go to New Jersey Medical School of the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (CMDNJ), now known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). He then completed a three year pediatric residency at Montefiore Medical Center, after which he served as the Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Montefiore. He then joined the outpatient Pediatrics department at Montefiore-North Central Bronx Hospitals, and served as the Assistant Director of that unit for two years.
Dr. Hirschman founded Pediatric Associates of North Riverdale in 1981, and has remained there as the senior pediatrician until the present. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
